Overview
What The Hell Are You Doing In Poland? is an interview-based podcast created to document the personal, cultural, and professional stories of people living in Poland.
The series brings together diverse voices – expats, immigrants, and locals – to explore identity, adaptation, and the realities of life in a changing country.
Recorded in English and published on YouTube, the project combines documentary insight with open, human conversations.
My Role
I led the full development of the project, from concept design to production and final delivery.
My responsibilities included guest sourcing, research, interview preparation, hosting, filming, editing direction, and overall project coordination. I shaped the narrative style, managed communication with participants, and ensured each episode maintained a consistent tone and focus.
Process
Each episode followed a structured yet flexible workflow. I began with topic research and guest selection, then prepared conversation guidelines to support natural but meaningful dialogue.
Production involved setting up the filming environment, managing audio and video, and facilitating a comfortable atmosphere for authentic storytelling.
After recording, I directed the editing process to create a coherent and engaging episode while preserving the unique voice of each guest.
Outcomes
The project produced a series of interviews that captured the complexities of living and working in Poland as an outsider – or as someone observing outsiders.
It expanded my skills in interviewing, narrative design, and multicultural communication, while also deepening my understanding of social dynamics in Poland.
The podcast strengthened my ability to manage long-form content, guide sensitive conversations, and lead multi-stage productions – skills that now support my consulting and mentoring practice.
